About the Letters

‘Letters to Mortimer’ came about many years ago and sprang mainly from my boredom with and amusement at the corporate world. They were simply shared amongst friends who enjoyed a good laugh. Recently, a co-worker and friend encouraged me to make them available to a wider audience. If you like them, you have my humble gratitude. If you don’t, well…my mom thinks I’m handsome.

Incidentally, regarding the subject matter, remember that Nabokov hated Freudians with a passion. The characters bear no resemblance to any person in my life and are not meant to offend.  Furthermore, my co-workers, family and ex-wife are both kind and intelligent, and take greater care of me than I am able to express.  My ex-wife, especially, has been supportive and a good friend.  Not only has she been wonderful, but my former in-laws are as kind as anyone could ever want.  Although, some of the framework of the story mirrors events that have happened in my life, this is simply a vehicle to carry the letters.  The characters ARE NOT like my real life family and friends.  Thank you.
